Amazon Discussion: Dairy, Varying of Diet

Trust and Rely asked:
Kevin, I"ve read dairy is inflammatory to the gut. Does it bother you? The berries aren't too acidic?

Kevin says:
Hi Trust and Rely

Nope, diary is actually a key part of my diet. It is NOT inflammatory to the gut, that is pseudoscience that seems to be passed around the internet a lot.

And yes, the berries are a bit acidic. But the overall goal is to get the stomach back to full health, so that means testing it with acidic foods every now and then. Also, certain berries are less acidic than others. And mixing these berries in a dairy/carb based milkshake (milk, yogurt, bananas) GREATLY nixes their acidity.

For most people, an extreme diet in ANY direction is not good. Have a little dairy, a little carbs, a little meat or fish, etc. Going to extremes often caused stomach issues.

If you have concerns about certain foods, speak with your doctor about allergies or IBS or Crohn's disease. There are exceptions, but most people benefit from a varied diet.
